Thermal & Wind Sit Planner

The forecast gives you one wind. The slope you are sitting on gives you another, and on a steep face before the sun is properly up the slope usually wins. This adds the two together as vectors and returns the direction your scent is really travelling, which side of the drainage that puts you on, and the clock time the thermal flips on that aspect.

Which sit

Put your back to the hill: the way you are looking is the aspect.

Rise over run. A gentle farm draw is 5–10; a steep elk face is 45–70.

The direction it blows from — the same way the forecast gives it.

At the ground where you will be sitting, not on the ridge top.

Optional — gives you the clock time the thermal turns over on this face.
